Farmer Jim , great post I agree with your thoughts. I would like to take part next year. Hopefully the organizers can use this form and others like it to let us know dates and details in advance. I really think for many of us this sort of protest is a way of taking back control of our lives. It can make us feel that we are doing somthing to resist the org, that has taken so much from us

I think the great thing about these sort of videos is when someone starts the wake-up they realize they are not alone. There is large community of exjws. So while these videos may not cause an uberdub to wake-up. They can help those going down that path. So keep up the good work! There are many of us who support this activism.

Thank you, George Couch!
by charonsdog ini just thought i'd share this story from my past.. back in the 80s i remember the big problem seemed to be about music.
(today, it's tight pants, i guess) the organization, society, whatever they were calling themselves, were always going on about the music we listened to.
disco, heavy metal, the whole "backwards masking" thing...couldn't escape hearing or reading about how satan was corrupting us unless we were listening to kingdom melodies or elevator music.. i was assigned to wtf in the late 80s and remember one of the articles stating that "young people know that the rhythm of rock music is the rhythm of sexual intercourse.

by Farmer Jim1 inafter the last topic getting me mad, does anyone have a positive experience of dealing with an elder or a particular favourite elder that was a top bloke?.

As an exelder I think Morpheus hit the nail on the head. I was the same. I knew many good guy elders, but in the end they tow the party line and will even do evil things if instructed.

Watching the Royal Commission hearing. Unreal and so damming to the JW judicial systems!.
What I would love is if someone could put together a 20 minute highlight reel of the most damming parts. I am not too tech otherwise I would do it. These Elders are looking like real fools. If we could get a 20 - 30 min Highlight reel on utube we could all work together to make it go viral! Its been super interesting to watch,, I love watch the elders get put on the spot having to answer the tough questions. Thoughts?

Find What Your Social Status Was in the Congregation
by Mary inever notice how the "happiest people on earth" are also the most class-oriented?
the social structure in the congregation is more complex than the blueprints of a nuclear warhead, but just so that you "remember your place", see if you can find where your niche was/is:.
1. at the top of the social order of things within the congregation is of course, the presiding overseer and his family.

What you have to say on rankings is so true, different degrees depending on congregation. I was a 2 for ten years then a 1for ten years then a 5 now a 7/8. Really like being a seven eight. Its all conditional love and freindships. Get out and make a real life .
